LCK 2026 rocked by two consecutive reverse sweeps in less than 24 hours: T1 and BFX collapse

When T1 took a 2-0 lead over HLE, the crowd was already preparing to celebrate. A team that goes up 2-0 in a best-of-five usually wins; historical BO5 data puts that conversion rate far above 90%. HLE ignored the numbers and won games three, four and five to complete a reverse sweep. Less than 24 hours later, Dplus KIA repeated the feat against BFX after trailing 0-2, winning 3-2. It is the first time in LCK history that two consecutive reverse sweeps have happened in two BO5s inside one day. T1, HLE and Gen.G were viewed as the top group. DK and KT were treated as challengers, while BFX were seen as a mid-table side. That consensus made the shock even bigger. T1 failed to close out HLE. BFX failed to close out DK. Both leading teams could not finish the shortest remaining path to victory. The more important detail was how HLE and DK escaped the edge. HLE had long been seen as strong when ahead but fragile when behind. Against T1, they stayed calm, changed the tempo and waited for the opponent to make mistakes. DK did the same against BFX. Neither team tried to win game three too quickly. They controlled vision, picked safer fights and turned the opponent's lead into psychological pressure. T1 are famous for discipline and for closing out matches in the LCK. Losing from 2-0 is not a small incident. They had chances to end the series, but aggressive decisions in the mid game let HLE return. BFX also stood in front of a historic win over a bigger name but could not handle the pressure when DK started fighting back. Still, two BO5s are not enough to prove a full competitive leveling in the LCK. I might be wrong. HLE winning three games does not automatically make them champions. DK nearly losing to BFX does not mean the lower half of the table has caught up. The real issue is the closer's mentality. If T1 keep overextending with a lead and BFX keep losing control at 2-0, more shocks are coming. A title does not need to be beautiful; it needs to be real. HLE did not win a title here, but they regained belief in themselves when cornered. DK also do not need to apologize for an imperfect win. The unanswered question after these 24 hours is not which team is stronger. It is whether T1 or Gen.G can show the same composure as HLE and DK when they fall 0-2 in a decisive BO5.
